Ms. Brittain is Vice President and State Manager for North Carolina. She received her BA in Sociology from Lenoir Rhyne College, Hickory, North Carolina in 1975 and her Master of Arts Degree in Organizational Communication in 2004 from Queens University, Charlotte, North Carolina. Her experience includes various capacities within the title industry.

CHRISTOPHER C. ANDERSON
Kit is Vice President and State Underwriting Counsel in the Charlotte office. He received his undergraduate degree in 1999 from Wake Forest University and his JD from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2004. Kit’s prior experience in private practice with a law firm in the Charlotte area had the concentration areas of residential and commercial real estate. He has been a member of the North Carolina State Bar since 2004.

W. ROBBINS COX
Robbie is a Vice President and State Underwriting Counsel in the Raleigh Office, with a focus on commercial and residential business development. He received his undergraduate degree from Duke University, Durham, North Carolina in 1975, magna cum laude, and his JD degree in 1980 from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. His prior experience includes over twenty-five years of private practice in Greenville and Raleigh in the field of commercial and residential real estate representing developers, lenders, builders, title companies, and purchasers.

NANCY SHORT FERGUSON
Nancy is a Vice President and Senior State Underwriting Counsel in the Greensboro office, with a focus on Claims Management. She received her undergraduate degree in 1980 and her JD degree in 1983 from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina and her Masters in Business Administration in 1996 from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She is a North Carolina State Bar Certified Specialist in Real Property Law; Business, Commercial, Industrial and Residential. Her experience includes private practice in various capacities and the title insurance industry. She has served as officer on multiple committees of the Real Property Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, as President of the North Carolina Land Title Association, President of the Greensboro Bar Association, Chair of the Greensboro Bar Association Real Property Section, and is currently a Councillor of the North Carolina State Bar and a member of the Real Property Law committee of the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. She has presented seminars and published articles on various real estate topics for the North Carolina Bar Association, North Carolina Paralegal Association, Legal Support Staff of North Carolina, Greensboro Paralegal Association, North Carolina Society of Surveyors, Inc., Professional Educational Seminars, Inc., National Business Institute, Lorman, and others. Nancy is co-author of North Carolina Real Estate Forms, beginning with the 2006 Supplement.

THOMAS ALFRED GARDNER
Mr. Gardner is Special Counsel with a focus on writing educational materials and residential and commercial business development. He received his undergraduate degree in 1961 from Lenoir Rhyne College, Hickory, North Carolina and his JD in 1966 from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. His experience includes private practice with a concentration in real estate and various capacities within the title insurance industry. He is a member of the American Bar Association and has served as President of the North Carolina Land Title Association and as its Counsel, on the Real Property Section and Executive Council of the North Carolina Bar Association, and as Chair of the Greensboro Bar Association.

JEFFREY I. HRDLICKA
Mr. Hrdlicka is Vice President and Senior State Underwriting Counsel in the Greensboro office, with a focus on 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges. He received his undergraduate degree in 1988 and his JD in 1991 from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. His experience includes private practice with a concentration in real estate and construction related civil litigation. He is a past president of the North Carolina Land Title Association and Real Property Section of the Greensboro Bar Association. He also has served on the Real Property Section Counsel and Real Property Curriculum Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association. He is a frequent speaker at seminars regarding title insurance matters and 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges.

M. SCOTT MANSFIELD
Mr. Mansfield is Vice President and State Underwriting Counsel in the Charlotte office, with a focus on commercial and residential business development. He received his undergraduate degree in 1994 from Dartmouth College and his JD in 1998 from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. His prior experience in private practice had a concentration in debt finance and general corporate representation.

ROBERT B. RASCOE
Mr. Rascoe is Vice President and State Underwriting Counsel in the Winston-Salem office, with a focus on commercial and residential business development. He received his undergraduate degree in 1964 from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina and his JD in 1967 from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He is a former Special Agent of the FBI. His experience includes private practice with a concentration in real estate and the title insurance industry. He is a member of the American Bar Association, a two time Past President of the North Carolina Land Title Association and has served on the Real Property Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.

KATHY W. SPEIGHT
Ms. Speight is Assistant Vice President and Systems Dept. Manager/UW Projects & Compliance for the State. She received her BS degree in 1974 from East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina and attended the paralegal program at Pitt Community College in Greenville where she has since served on the paralegal advisory board. She has worked in the real estate department of a law firm and managed the loan closing department of a mortgage company.

JAMES W. WILLIAMS III
Mr. Williams is Vice President and State Underwriting Counsel in the Wilmington office. He received his BA in 1988 from Westminster College, Fulton, Missouri and his JD with Certification in Resources, Energy and Environmental Law in 1995 from the University of Tulsa College of Law, Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is a Board Certified Specialist in Residential and Commercial Transactions and his experience includes private practice with a concentration in real estate. He is currently serving on the New Hanover County Planning Board and serves as vice-president on the board of the Cape Fear Housing Land Trust. He has previously served on the Real Property Section Council of the North Carolina Association, as president of the New Hanover County Real Property Section, as president of the Board of Directors of Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity and on the board of Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center.
